I will admit, I liked Manny when he first came to Boston, but I fell out of love with him a few years ago and I haven’t looked back since. However, I still feel a distinct sense of loss with his leaving…whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, I don’t know yet. I can appreciate that fact that Manny is a fun guy. He is always waving and talking to fans between pitches, between innings out in left field. But I can’t handle the fact that he doesn’t explode out of the batter’s box after every hit; he doesn’t appreciate the fact that he makes $20mil to PLAY A GAME THAT I WOULD PLAY FOR FREE!  I understand there is more involved with playing baseball now than there ever has been, but I think $20 mil is a lot to do ANYTHING. Do you that Manny could support an ENTIRE starving country on that money. Think about that one. And he pushed a 64 year old man over some tickets for his family?!?! Couldn’t he ask his teammates to share or something? Couldn’t he respect the fact that No means No means No and violence (especially toward one of his elders) is NEVER acceptable? I am fed up with Manny and his antics and I say good riddance. Yes, I will miss the 3-4 combo of him and Ortiz; I will miss the hair; the smile; the goofiness; but I won’t miss the “poor manny” mentality that he has been throwing around of late; I won’t miss hearing that his grandmother died, again; and I won’t miss this mid year temper tantrum. Go have fun with Jeff Kent…I pity Joe Torre today.
